Hi, I’m Tony
I am a New York-based guitarist, producer, and bassist with a B.S. in jazz guitar and 12+ years of teaching experience. I have engineered for Vox Media and produce music for Brooklyn-based indie bands. If you are seriously interested in music, I’d like to meet you.
The center of my teaching method is compassion, experimentation, self-examination, in-depth analysis, and building student independence. I specialize in artistic and creative development regardless of experience.
My curriculum is tailored to your favorite music. I’ve covered jazz, k-pop, indie rock, death metal, pop production, neo-soul piano, Japanese folk music, bluegrass mandolin and more. I am equally comfortable teaching shred guitar as I am trap production.

“I’m an amateur player trying to take my skills to the next level, and Tony has been the perfect teacher. Tony’s expertise and teaching skills have been a perfect match for my goals. He knows how practice works, how the brain works, how best to get your fingers to overcome obstacles, how to explain things about music theory, and re-explain them in a different way if the first isn’t clicking.”

“Tony is not only my favorite guitar and music theory teacher but also my favorite guitar player. He has taught me so much over the years as well as teaching me to teach myself. He is an empath and it shows in his teaching. Whether you are a beginner or brushing up on your chops he will have an infinite amount of things to show you with the patience of a saint.”

“Tony is such a knowledgeable and empathetic teacher. He explains musical concepts in a way that gets me excited to learn more, and his lessons skillfully balance theory, practical skills and personal taste in equal parts. I always feel challenged in an accessible way, and when things click after his explanations, I feel so accomplished. He’s made learning guitar a really amazing experience.”
